I am a huuuuge fan of Amy Jean Porter's and have been patiently waiting for 20x200 to offer more of her work. Her Freaked Out Monkeys in the Trees series is by far my favorite and there is only more to come as Porter continues her All Species All the Time collection.

Two Sides to the Story, William Wegman
The perfect anniversary present for my parents, a William Wegman print. Wegman is a tried and true FAVORITE at casa verde, so much so that, my mother bought us almost alll of his children's books growing up (and they are fantastical, especially his re-picturing of Cinderella and Little Red Riding Hood). "Game Board" is quite an interesting depiction of their intriguing yin & yang relationship (marriage) of 25 years.
Wegman sells out fast on 20x200. Gotta get it while it's hot.
'Blizzard' is undoubtably the better picture of the set, but far less applicable for their anniversary.

William Wegman Pairing at 20x200
'The Architects'
"...I care nothing about golf, so when I came across a postcard with several figures on a lawn, I had to strain to notice that they were watching golf. I imagined four of the figures as architects. And that gave me the idea. I found cards of four separate buildings, including Ronchamp, that were equivalent in size and position. The horizon lines matched and I was able to begin annexing them with watercolor, finally giving the golf audience something to look at. I first began to alter my own photographic works in the mid-seventies. Since then, I have become increasingly interested in the resurrection and relocation of found images. Postcards are an excellent repository of these, and I have been using them in my work since 1995. With painted additions I can connect disparate properties and places and give them new life, create a new space."

"Love=Love is a series of surreal and spectacular landscape photographs that were created using pieces from over 60 store-bought jigsaw puzzles. Since manufacturers occasionally use the same die to cut more than one puzzle, I was able to use each piece in its proper position within the grid of the puzzle. I deconstructed the original idyllic images first by removing flower and skies from each puzzle and then by re-combining them to form disorienting and fractured montage."
Archival pigment prints of Untitled #10 are available at 20x200: Great Art $20. Really. but probably only for a short time, they're selling like hot cakes!

Jeff Lewis does more than the ovular acrylic, oil and flasche paintings I've shown above. He also creates rather large and intricate pencil drawings that are called 'Grids' which almost resemble persian rugs. It was difficult to find much information on Lewis, the best was his vague and simplistic artist statement at 20x200:Great Art $20. Really. where archival pigment prints of the above painting, 'Inloveness Revisited', are available.

Window Screen Pixelation, Matthew Tishler

"I shoot through window screens, netting and scrims, creating grid patterns that become the sharpest focal element of each image. I employ these grids and barriers in order to dissect, pixelate, filter and flatten landscapes and space. Subjects and figures are broken apart and reconstructed in such a way that they are both integrated into their environments and isolated within them. None of the subjects in my photographs have any discernible features; rather they are faceless characters whose identities are defined by their surroundings. "

Pinus contorta, Amy Talluto

Talluto's oil painting is from a photograph taken on a trip to Glacier National Park in Montana. The primary subject, Pinus contorta is a common evergreen in Western North America. This variety predominately populates the Northern Pacific Coast and has a distinctive contorted shrubby habit. Her drawings are equally arresting and easily viewed on her website as well as information on her current exhibitions. The archival pigment print of 'Hermaphrodite' is still available at 20x200: Great Art $20. Really.
