LFTF Compton Chic- 'MISERERE'

LFTF (Live For The Funk) is"Introducing innovative artists who bring something even more ambitious and progressive to the already eclectic scenes we love and represent is the whole reason we started the Our Sounds label, and with each new release we try our best to further push toward that overall ideal. With that said, in steps Montreal producer/singer Compton Chic, whose debut EP #CRYING will release next week as the fourth project in the OS series, LFTF004.Everything 20-year-old Compton Chic creates on #CRYING is based in and around emotion. Ideas are detached, obtuse, and wildly experimentalleaving you completely submerged beneath waves of lush, hot-blooded atmospheres. Soul/R&B along with goth/punk influences get mashed together to form an unorthodox conundrum of sounds that are both dismal and tragic, yet beautiful and sublime at the same time. Echo-ing R&B vocals reverberate beneath skittish drums patterns as if they're being shouted from miles away, injecting tracks with deep-seated feelings of built up desire. Even when Compton Chic decides to display her own voice on tracks, which happens a few times throughout the EP, the results are inherently visceral—showcasing her diverse talents on the most bare and basic level and leaving it all on the line."
#CRYING ep is available 2/26 here
